ROBERT NIELSEN WRITING
Poetry
My writing, like my photography, is evolving; it is a work in progress. My poetry is generally free-verse in form. My poems tend to be lyric, narrative, or romantic in content; often about nature, defining moments, mystery or spirit.
I am blessed to be part of a community of writers in the Monterey Bay Area, and to have met and studied with fellow writers at Christ Church College at the University of Oxford, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Auvillar, Languedoc, France, and the Esalen Institute, Big Sur, California.
My work has appeared in a number of publications, including the Homestead Review, the Porter Gulch Review, the Fallen Leaf Anthology, the Monterey Poetry Review, and the Legal Studies Journal (a review published by West Virginia Law School, and devoted entirely to non-legal writing by lawyers).
I belong to the Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium (see “Links” below), and I refresh and expand my poetry and other writing skills through a Carmel Valley writing group, and also classes with local poets and with Stanford’s Continuing Studies program.
